Jordan Mannix-lachner

Jordan Mannix-Lachner is the Executive Director of Last Stand. Jordan oversees the strategic, operational, and technical aspects of the organization, working with the Board of Directors to meet Last Stand’s short- and long-term goals. 

Jordan’s background is in public policy, sustainable land use, and community engagement. Jordan’s career began in nonprofit advocacy at the Center for Justice at Columbia University. After a stint as a congressional intern, Jordan learned community organizing principles and worked on policy and campaign strategy at the Katal Center for Health, Equity and Justice in New York. 

After returning to her hometown of Key West in 2017, Jordan managed projects in both the nonprofit and private sectors before transitioning into public sector planning. At the City of Key West, she developed land use policy, managed development review, and led efforts to promote resilience, affordable housing, and sustainable growth. 

Jordan has served on the board of May Sands Montessori and the U.S. Green Building Council’s Florida Market Leadership Advisory Board. She is a member and volunteer for the Center for Biological Diversity where she has worked with the Center on legal efforts to protect endemic Florida Keys species threatened by climate change. 

Jordan holds an M.S. from the University of Florida where she studied planning and natural resource management. She holds a B.S. in political science from Barnard College at Columbia University
